Our place is at 35 Amherst Street in Kolkata. This is an old part of the city, and you can really feel the history when you walk down the street. The buildings here have a lot of character, and Amherst Street itself is quite narrow and always filled with people, rickshaws, and the smell of local food. We operate out of an older building that has been here for a long time. It is not like those shiny new offices you see in the outskirts. We have high ceilings and those old-style windows that let in the Kolkata humidity. Working in the steel trade from this location means we are close to a lot of the traditional markets. Our daily routine involves a lot of talking to regular customers and managing the logistics of moving steel through these busy streets. When it rains, the sound on the roof is incredibly loud, and we sometimes have to shout to hear each other. We don't use any fancy corporate talk; we just speak the way we do at home. There is a tea shop just a few doors down where we get our morning chai, and that is usually where we start our day. The pace of life here is a mix of slow traditions and the fast-paced nature of the steel business. We like being part of this neighborhood and wouldn't really want to be anywhere else in the city.
