Our office is over in Nabapally, Joka, right near the Thakurpukur police station in Kolkata. It is a busy part of the city and there is always something happening on the street. We have been working out of this spot for quite a while now. Dealing with steel in Kolkata means you have to be ready for anything that comes your way. The traffic can be a total nightmare sometimes, so we try to get an early start to beat the worst of it. Our team is small but we have all been in the steel business for a long time. It is not a polished corporate office with glass walls or fancy carpets. It is just a practical space where we can keep our files and meet with people. We handle the local side of things for the steel business. There is always a lot of paperwork to go through and phone calls to make to the suppliers. We do not really have a marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on the work we do every day. Sometimes we stay late when a big order comes in at the last minute. We usually grab some snacks from the local shop down the road during our short breaks. It is a very normal way to spend a workday. We do not make big promises. We just do the work.
