Electrosteel Castings Ltd.

Our place is at 45/1A, Bepin Mitra Lane in the Shyambazar area of Calcutta. If you know the city, you know how tight these lanes can be. Electrosteel Castings Ltd. has a long history here. The building is one of those old Calcutta structures with high ceilings and thick walls. It stays relatively cool even when the humidity is high outside. We have stacks of ledgers and old wooden furniture that has seen better days. It’s not a modern glass office by any stretch. You can hear the trams and the general chaos of Shyambazar just a short walk away. We have a small crew here, and most of us have been working together for a long time. There’s a certain way we do things that hasn't changed much over the years. We drink a lot of tea from the shop down the lane. The stairs are a bit narrow and creak when you walk up them. It’s a very grounded place to work. We don't put on any airs. People come here to get things done, and we focus on the casting business. There are blueprints and dusty folders everywhere. It feels like a real part of the old city. We like the rhythm of the neighborhood. It’s home for us, even if the paint is peeling a bit in the corners. We just keep at it, day in and day out.
