Eastern Metec Pvt Ltd is located on Dum Dum Road, specifically at 347/4/3 Jheel Avenue. If you know Kolkata, you know how busy Dum Dum Road gets. It’s a constant stream of cars, buses, and rickshaws right outside our door. Our building is tucked away in Jheel Avenue, which gives us a tiny bit of space away from the main chaos. We work on technical stuff and metal parts. It’s a noisy business, but we are used to it by now. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually take our breaks. The building we are in is quite old, like most things in this part of Kolkata. We have to be careful with the wiring and the space we have. Most of the staff live nearby, so they walk or take a short bus ride to get here. We don't do anything flashy. We just receive orders, work on the metal, and send it out. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on Dum Dum Road, but everyone around here understands that. It’s just part of living and working in this city. We keep the machines running as much as we can. It’s a practical business. We don't have a receptionist or a big lobby. You just walk in and find someone to talk to. We’ve been here for years and we know most of the other business owners on the block. It's a community that works together.
