Steel Wire Rope

Our place is at 13/2 Jrd Road in Dum Dum. The name is pretty much what we do—we handle steel wire ropes. If you come by, you’ll see rolls of wire everywhere. It’s heavy work, and the ropes can be quite rough on the hands if you aren't careful. We use gloves, of course, but you still feel the weight of it at the end of the shift. The shop isn't anything special to look at. It’s a functional space where we keep the stock organized so we can find the right thickness when someone asks. Dum Dum is a busy area, and Jrd Road has its own share of commotion. We’ve got a few regulars who come by whenever they need replacements for their machinery or cranes. We talk about the weather or how the local market is doing while we cut the lengths they need. The machines we use for cutting are old but they still do the job. Sometimes we have to move things around just to make space for a new shipment. It’s a lot of physical labor and making sure the measurements are okay. We don’t spend much on decorating the place because it would just get covered in industrial oil anyway. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes in. It’s a simple life on Jrd Road, and we like it that way.
