Dinabandhu Steel & Power has its office at 2/4A, Aravind Nagar in the Regent Park area of Kolkata. Being in Kolkata means we’re surrounded by history and a lot of busy streets. Our office is in a pretty residential-feeling part of town, which is a nice change from the crowded commercial centers. Most of our day is spent on the phone or handling paperwork related to steel supplies and power projects. It’s a lot of coordinating between different sites and making sure things are moving where they need to go. We have a small team here, and the office usually smells like tea and old paper. We don’t have any of those modern open-plan layouts you see in magazines; it’s just desks, chairs, and filing cabinets. Sometimes the ceiling fan clicks a bit too loud, or the street noise from outside gets distracting, but we’ve worked here so long we hardly notice anymore. We deal with various aspects of the industry, from raw materials to energy considerations. It’s a lot to keep track of, but we’ve developed a rhythm over the years. We aren't looking to impress anyone with big speeches or glossy brochures. We just show up, do the work, and make sure our partners get what they were expecting. It’s a steady job in a city that never really stops moving, and we enjoy being right in the middle of it.
