Different Strokes

Our place is in Flat B-1 at 437 New Santoshpur Main Road. It’s basically a flat that we turned into our workspace. It gets a bit cramped sometimes because we have boxes piled up near the entrance and tools scattered on the tables. Living and working in the same general area has its ups and downs. Most people find us because they live nearby or heard about us from a friend. We do a lot of different things here, hence the name. One day it might be painting and the next we are packing up orders for someone across town. The main road is always loud with horns and buses going by. We try to keep the windows shut to block out the noise, but the heat makes that hard in the afternoon. It’s not a fancy office with a receptionist. Usually, if the bell rings, it’s one of us who answers it with a pen behind our ear and paint on our hands. We spend a lot of time just organizing the supplies so we don't lose anything. If you drop by, you’ll probably see us in the middle of a task. We don’t mind. It’s just how we work. Sometimes the tea runs out and someone has to run down to the corner shop. It’s a simple setup but it works for what we need. We’ve been in Santoshpur for years now and know the local rhythm.
