Debosmita Mitra

Debosmita Mitra operates out of 50 B, Shyam Bazar Street. This part of Kolkata is very old and has a lot of character. You can feel the history when you walk down the street, and the buildings have that classic look. 50 B is just one of those places that has been around for a long time. Inside, it’s quite simple. There is no big office suite or reception area. It is just a space where the work happens, usually surrounded by stacks of books and papers. The street outside is always buzzing with people and the sound of the trams isn't too far away. The 700004 area is really the heart of north Kolkata, and being on Shyam Bazar Street means there is never a dull moment. We just go about our day, teaching and explaining things as they come up. It’s a very informal atmosphere where things don't have to be perfect. Sometimes the tea arrives late or the rain makes it hard to hear, but that’s just part of living and working here. There isn't any fancy equipment, just the basics like a table and some chairs. It’s a very grounded way to spend the day, just focusing on the lessons and the students who come by. Debosmita Mitra is just a regular presence on a very famous old street. We don’t really do anything flashy, we just keep the doors open and stick to the books every day. It is just a regular job for us and we like it that way.
