Our office is situated in Lal Bazar, right in the Dalhousie area which is probably one of the busiest parts of the city. Being down here means we are surrounded by old buildings and a lot of history. There is always a lot of noise from the street, with taxis honking and people rushing to the government offices nearby. Inside our space, it’s mostly about managing travel details and leisure trips for people who want to get away from all that noise. We spend our days on the phone or checking computer screens for flights and hotels. It’s a lot of back-and-forth work. Sometimes things go smoothly and other times we are scrambling because a train got canceled or a hotel changed its booking. We don't have any flashy displays, just desks and chairs and maps pinned to the walls. People come in with their bags or just a list of places they want to see, and we sit down to figure out the logistics. Dalhousie is a hectic place to work, but it keeps us on our toes. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the core of what we do remains the same. We just try to make sure people can get from one place to another without too much trouble. It’s honest work and we like being in this part of town despite the crowded streets and the humid afternoons.
