Classic Products

Our spot is at 140, Chittaranjan Avenue, right where the traffic never seems to stop. Classic Products has been our life for a while now. It’s a tall order keeping everything running in such a busy part of the city. We’ve got shelves full of items and not always enough space to put them. The building is older, so you have to know which floorboards creak. Most of us just wear comfortable clothes because there’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes around. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. It’s just us answering the landline and writing down orders in big ledger books. The tea man comes by twice a day, which is usually the highlight when things get stressful. You get used to the honking from the avenue after a few weeks. We mostly sell things to people who have been coming to us for decades. It feels more like a community than a corporation. Sometimes we run out of stock and have to explain it to a grumpy customer, but that’s just part of the job. We try to keep the windows clean, but the city dust wins most of the time. It’s a simple operation at 140, and we like the fact that people know they can just drop in and talk to us directly without any fuss. It is a bit chaotic, but it is how we like to work.
