Calcutta Metal Print

Down here on Canal East Road, things stay pretty loud most of the time. We are at 30/H/3, and if you walk by Calcutta Metal Print, you will hear the machines hitting the metal plates. It is a bit of a dusty spot, honestly. We have been working with metal and ink for a while now, and our hands usually show it by the end of the shift. The canal is right there, and the area has its own smell and feel that you just get used to after a few years. We don't spend money on fancy signs or shiny floors because that isn't what we are about. We just focus on the plates and making sure the impressions are clear enough to read. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit around and wait, which gives us time to talk. We don't have a big corporate story. It is just a small team of us handling the heavy lifting and the printing presses. It gets sweaty in the summer, especially with the metal reflecting the heat, but nobody complains much. We just drink some water, wipe our foreheads, and get back to the next batch. It is hard work, and the floors are stained with oil, but it is what we know. Most of our neighbors are doing similar tough jobs, so we all just get on with it every day until it is time to go home.
