Indu Furniture

Our shop is Indu Furniture and we are located at 31 Black Burn Lane. We are actually tucked under Shilpa Bhawan at Shop No. 14. If you wander down the lane, you’ll probably smell the sawdust before you see us. It’s a bit of a tight space because we have pieces of wood leaning against the walls and half-finished chairs or tables taking up most of the floor. We’ve been here for a while and the neighborhood knows us as the place to get something sturdy made. We aren't like those big showrooms with bright lights and perfect displays. Our place is a working shop. There are tools everywhere, from hammers to saws, and usually a bit of wood glue on the worktables. We spend our days measuring, cutting, and fitting things together. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the sanding machines going, but that’s just part of the job. People come in with sketches or just an idea of what they need for their homes, and we talk through what kind of wood would be best. The lane outside is usually busy with other small businesses, so there is always something going on. We just focus on making things that will last a long time. It’s physical work and our hands are usually a bit rough by the end of the day, but we like seeing a finished piece of furniture ready to be taken home.
