Khaatee

Khaatee is over at No. 10 Dr. Lal Mohan Bhattacharjee Road. It’s an old building, and we’ve made our home on the ground floor. It’s not a very big space, so things can get a little crowded when we have a lot of stock coming in. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Most people find us because they live around here or they’ve been told about us by a friend. The street outside is usually full of people and traffic, especially in the afternoons. Sometimes it’s hard to even hear yourself talk with all the noise from Dr. Lal Mohan Bhattacharjee Road. We don't have a polished way of talking about our business. We just do what we do. We handle different items and orders as they come. It’s a lot of manual work, moving boxes and checking lists. We don’t have a big team of managers; it’s just a few of us making sure everything is in order. We usually have a bit of a chat with the neighbors while we're working. It’s a friendly enough area, even if it is a bit chaotic at times. We don’t pretend to be some big national company. We’re just a local business trying to do things right. If you come by, you’ll see we are just regular folks working hard in a small shop.
