Bengal Metals

Bengal Metals is located right near the Balaji Mandir on Vivekananda Pli Road. You can usually hear the bells from the temple while we are working, which is a nice sound to have in the background of a metal business. The road outside is always full of people and vehicles, so it gets quite loud during the day. We have been here for a while and the building shows its age, but it’s solid enough for what we need. Dealing with metal is heavy work and it’s often dirty. Our hands are usually covered in some kind of dust or grease by noon. We don’t really have a front desk or a receptionist to greet you. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us near the back where the inventory is kept. The space isn't very organized to look at, but we have a system that makes sense to us. If you’re looking for something specific, we usually have to move a few things around to find it. The heat can be a bit much in the summer months because of all the metal around, but we just drink a lot of water and keep going. Most of our neighbors are also running small shops, so we all know each other. It’s a simple way of doing things. We just focus on the day-to-day tasks and try to keep our head down and work as best as we can.
