Bengal Metal Works

Bengal Metal Works is on Serpentine Lane at 69/A. It’s a narrow street. You might miss it if you aren't looking closely. We do metal work here. It's a noisy job. There is always the sound of cutting or hammering going on. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings. We don't wear suits or sit in air-conditioned offices. We work with our hands. Most of the time we are covered in a bit of grease or dust. It’s been this way for years. We take in orders for various metal parts or repairs. It is hard work and it gets hot near the machines. We have a few guys who have been with us for a long time. They know how to handle the equipment. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are on Serpentine Lane. They come by when they have a job that needs doing. We listen to what they want and we try to make it. It isn't always perfect but it’s solid work. The lane is quite old and has a lot of character. We fit right in. We just keep the machines running and the orders moving. It’s a simple way to live. We do the work, get paid, and come back the next morning to do it again.
