Bbn Gold Private Limited is tucked away in Hanspukur 1st Lane. If you know Kolkata, you know how these lanes are. We are up on the first floor in Room 17. It isn't a huge space, but it works for what we do here every day. Most mornings start with unlocking the heavy door and getting the lights on. The lane outside gets noisy pretty early. You can hear the carts and people talking all through the day. We spend a lot of time just sitting at the desks or checking things that come in. It’s a busy part of town, right near the markets, so there is always something happening outside the window. We’ve been at this address for a while now. Some days are slower than others, but mostly we just keep our heads down and get the work done. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep if you aren’t used to them. It’s just a normal office really, nothing fancy to look at. We have the usual files and chairs and the smell of the city coming in through the vents. People stop by, or they call, and we handle the gold business as it comes. It feels like home after you’ve been here long enough. You get used to the rhythm of the 1st lane and the way the light hits the floor in the afternoon.
