Ayra Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is based in Murshidabad, specifically at the home of Nurjahan Khatun. She’s the wife of Hafizur Rahaman. We are a farmers producer company, so our focus is entirely on the farming community around here. It’s a very local operation. We don't have a big fancy office building with a sign on top. We just use a room in the house where we can keep our paperwork and have meetings. Most of the time, we are out talking to the people who grow the crops. Murshidabad is a place where everyone knows everyone, so news travels fast. We don't bother with fancy marketing or trying to look bigger than we are. We just handle the business of buying and selling what the farmers produce. It’s a lot of counting and checking bags and making sure the weights are right. Sometimes it’s stressful when the market prices jump around, but we just deal with it as it comes. We have a few old fans that hum while we work, and there is always someone coming by for a chat. It’s a very practical way to run a company. We don't have any big mission statements or anything like that. We just want to make sure the farmers in our area can get their work done and get paid for it.
