About Avijit Bhattacharya – Art & Craft in Kolkata
I’m Avijit Bhattacharya, and I work out of 19, J/H/16, Goabagan Street. This is an old part of Kolkata, 700006, where the lanes are narrow and things haven't changed much in decades. My office is basically just a part of the building where I’ve set up my desk and some shelves for my files. I don't have a big staff or a corporate structure. It’s mostly just me handling the professional services that people in the area need. You’ll often find me buried under a pile of papers or talking to someone who just dropped in. Goabagan Street is a lively place, and there’s always some noise coming in from the window. I’ve lived around here for a long time, so I know a lot of the faces that pass by. It’s not a polished business environment. It’s just a room where work gets done. I spend a lot of time reading through documents and trying to sort out various issues for my clients. It can be a bit slow at times, but I prefer it that way. I don’t do any advertising. Most people find me because they live nearby or a friend mentioned my name. It’s a very local, personal way of doing things. I just try to be helpful and get the job done without making a big fuss. It’s a quiet life in a busy street, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I just take things as they come.
