Asit Kumar Basu

My name is Asit Kumar Basu and I work out of 35/Y Radha Madhab Dutta Garden Lane here in Kolkata. It is a bit of a mouthful of an address, but it’s home and office all rolled into one. The 700002 area is where I’ve spent a lot of my time, and setting up shop on this lane seemed like the natural thing to do. It’s not a grand building with glass doors, just a regular place where I get my daily tasks done. The lane itself is usually filled with the sounds of the neighborhood, which I’ve grown to like over the years. I don’t have a lot of fancy equipment or a team of employees. It is mainly just me at my desk, trying to keep the records straight and making sure everything is in order. Some days are slower than others, which gives me time to tidy up the workspace, though it never stays clean for very long. I find that being in a residential area helps keep things calm, even though the rest of Kolkata can be so hectic. I’ve lived in 700002 long enough to know the local shortcuts. There isn't any big mystery to what I do or how I do it. I just sit down every morning and start working through whatever needs attention. It’s a straightforward way to live and work without any unnecessary complications or trying to impress anybody.
