Anyadana Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based out of Chhaigharia village in the Kalupur area of North 24 Parganas. Nanda Kishore Aich is the person whose name is on the address, and we all meet up around there. The name Anyadana is about the grain we produce. We are just regular farmers from this part of West Bengal. Life here revolves around the seasons and what we can pull from the earth. We decided to form this company so we could have a bit more say in how our crops are handled after they leave the field. It’s not a big fancy business. Most days it is just us in our work clothes talking about prices or where to get the best seeds. We don't use any corporate talk because that isn't who we are. We are people who have calluses on our hands and dirt under our nails. It is a tough way to make a living, but it is what our families have always done. We help each other with the heavy lifting and share what we know. If you come by Po Chhaigharia, you’ll find us just being ourselves. We aren't looking to grow into some huge international thing; we just want our local farming community to be strong and for the people here to have a fair shake. It is about the food we grow and the neighbors we live with.
