Annapurna Seeds

We are located in Suit # 15 on the 2nd floor of 2 N. C. Dutt Sarani. It’s an older building in this part of town, but it has plenty of character and some nice high ceilings. At Annapurna Seeds, we deal with exactly what the name says. We have bags of seeds sitting in the corners, and the whole office smells a bit like dry earth and grain most of the time. It’s a small space, so we have to be very careful about how we stack things so we don't block the walkway for anyone coming in. We spend our days talking to farmers and local suppliers about what’s growing well this season and what the weather is doing to the crops. It’s very seasonal work, so some months are absolutely frantic with orders while others are much slower and quieter. We have a small wooden table where we sit and go over the order forms together. The windows look out over the street below, and we often see the same people passing by at the same time every day. We aren't trying to be the biggest seed company in the country. We just want to provide the seeds that people actually need for their own land. It’s a lot of sorting, labeling, and making sure the stock stays dry and cool. We use paper forms and keep everything in old binders. It works for us and keeps our small business going.
