Ankan Dhar is based right here at 40/1 Purna Das Road in Kolkata. If you’ve spent any time on Purna Das Road, you know it’s a pretty lively place with all sorts of things going on. Our office is tucked into number 40/1. It’s not a large space, just enough for what we need to get through the day. There’s no big sign with flashing lights or a polished lobby with a security guard. It is just a door and a room where the work happens. Usually, you’ll find some files stacked up and the sound of traffic coming in from the window. It is a bit noisy sometimes because of the location, but you get used to it after a week or two. We have been here for some time now and most of the neighbors know who we are. It’s a straightforward way of working. We don't spend much time worrying about how the curtains look or if the chairs match perfectly. As long as there is a place to sit and a desk to work on, it’s fine for us. People stop by when they have something to discuss, and we just sit down and talk. It is a very normal, everyday kind of place. Nothing more, nothing less. Just Ankan Dhar doing what needs to be done from this little corner of the city. We don't do much marketing, mostly just word of mouth. That keeps us plenty busy enough.
