Anirvan Bala

Down in Kestopur, near the Girls High School, you’ll find us. The shop is under the name Anirvan Bala, and we’ve been situated here in Kolkata 700102 for a while. It’s a straightforward setup where we take care of people’s hair and grooming. Being near a school means there are always people moving around outside. We get a mix of different people stopping by, from students to older folks who have lived in Kestopur forever. The interior isn't anything special, just white walls and the equipment we need to do the job. We don’t spend money on fancy advertisements; word of mouth is usually how people hear about us. It’s a small operation, mostly just me and a helper. We handle the scissors and the razors with a steady hand. Sometimes it’s quiet enough to hear the radio, and other times it’s just non-stop talking. We like it that way. It’s a practical business for a practical neighborhood. We aren't trying to be the most famous place in Kolkata, just a reliable one for the local residents. Most days follow a similar pattern, and that suits us just fine. We keep the shop clean and ready for whoever walks through the door next. It’s just us, doing our thing on this little street near the school. We don't need much more than that to feel satisfied with our day. Even when the rain starts coming down hard on the roof, we just stay inside and keep on working until closing time.
