Andrew Yule & Co. Ltd. has been at 8, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sarani for a very long time. This is an old part of the city, and the building itself has a lot of history etched into the walls. When you walk in, you can feel that it isn't some new glass tower. It is a place where work has been happening for generations. We have heavy wooden desks and old filing systems mixed in with the newer computers we use now. The streets outside are always crowded with people and vendors, especially during the middle of the day. Our staff comes from all over, some taking the bus and others the train. We deal with various things, from engineering to power and even tea, though most of the heavy stuff happens elsewhere. Here at the main office, it is more about the paperwork and keeping everything running smoothly across the different branches. We don't have a lot of modern perks or a gym in the office. We just have a canteen where everyone gathers to talk about football or the weather. It is a traditional way of working, I suppose. We don't feel the need to change just for the sake of looking modern. We know our jobs and we do them the way they have always been done, with a bit of care and a lot of patience. It is just how things go here.
