Allied Packers & Movers

Our office is at 20, Nr Deshopriyo Park, on Parkside Rd in the Kalighat area. It’s a nice spot because of the trees in the park, though we don't always have time to go sit there. We’ve been here for a while now, handling packing and moving for the neighborhood as Allied Packers & Movers. The building is one of those older ones with high ceilings and thick walls. It stays a bit cooler in the summer, which is lucky for us. We spend most of our time dealing with crates, bubble wrap, and heavy-duty tape. There’s always a stack of empty boxes in the corner. We aren't a big, polished company with a call center. When you call, you usually just talk to one of us here in the room. We know the streets of Kalighat like the back of our hands. We have to, otherwise the trucks would get stuck in the narrow parts. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit messy, but we still have to get the packing done. It’s hard work, especially moving heavy cupboards down narrow stairs. We have a small team of guys who have been with us for years. We don't use any fancy software, just some notebooks and a simple computer setup. It’s a straightforward business. We show up, pack everything up, and get it moved. That’s what we do every day without fail. It is what it is.
