Up on the 5th floor of Circular Court, we have a pretty good view of AJC Bose Road. This part of Kolkata is always moving, and you can hear the horns honking even from this high up. Our office at 8 A J C Bose Road is where the main administrative work for the steel business happens. It’s a functional space. We have rows of filing cabinets and some old wooden desks that have seen better days. The lift can be a bit moody sometimes, so we’ve all had to walk up those five floors once or twice when it decides to take a break. It's a lot of phone calls and paperwork here. We spend our hours talking to the yards, checking on shipments, and making sure the numbers in our books match up. We’re not a huge team, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. There’s no fancy lounge or anything like that, just a small corner where we keep the kettle for tea. We’ve been around for a while now, and the routine hasn't changed much. We show up, we check the mail, we handle the orders, and we head home when the sun goes down. It’s a steady sort of life. We don't really try to impress anyone with the office décor; we just focus on making sure the business side of the steel stays on track. That's really all there is to it.
