Agni Ghosh

My place is at 8/4 A, Kashi Ghosh Lane in Kolkata. It is a bit of an old building with high ceilings, but it works for what I do. Being near the Beadon Street Post Office makes it easy for people to find me when they are giving directions. I have lived in this part of the city for a long time, so I know the streets and the shortcuts pretty well. I usually have students coming in throughout the afternoon and early evening hours. We sit in the main room and go over whatever they are struggling with in their classes. It is not a big operation at all, just me sitting with a few people at a time around a wooden table. The street outside can be quite narrow, so parking a bike is sometimes a bit of a challenge for the older kids who ride here. I like the area because it feels like home and everything I need is just around the corner. Sometimes the tea stall down the lane gets a bit noisy with people chatting, but that is just part of living in this city. I do not really have a big sign outside or anything fancy. Most people find out about me from their neighbors or friends at school. I just keep my books organized and try to be ready when the doorbell rings. It is a quiet way to spend the day, just teaching and talking about lessons.
