Granite Export

We are located at number 96 on the road that goes from Shiroli to Sangali, right here in Kolhapur. It is a busy stretch of road with a lot of heavy vehicles passing through all day long. Our yard is where all the action happens, with large blocks of stone coming in and getting ready to be sent out again. The red dust of Kolhapur tends to get on everything, but we don't mind it much. We have a small office on the side of the main shed where we keep track of the exports and talk to the drivers. Most of our day is spent checking the quality of the granite and making sure the crates are packed tight so nothing breaks during the long journey. It is a lot of physical work, and you have to be careful where you step with all the machinery moving around. Sometimes the power goes out and everything goes quiet for a while, so we just sit outside and wait for it to come back on. We have been on this road for many years and have seen the area change quite a bit as more businesses move in. It is a straightforward operation, focused on getting the stone out to where it needs to go. We also have a stray dog that hangs around the yard gate, and we give him some food every afternoon.
