Maheswari Granites

If you have ever been down Kolhapur Miraj Road near the Ichalkaranji Naka, you probably know how the traffic can get. That is where we spend most of our time. Maheswari Granites is not some big corporate office; it is basically a yard full of heavy granite slabs that take a lot of effort to move. We have been here for a while now, and the routine is pretty much the same every day. We open up the gates, check what came in on the latest truck, and try to keep things organized. The sun hits the slabs in the afternoon and they get incredibly hot to the touch. It is a bit of a struggle to keep the place tidy because granite cutting and moving creates a lot of small chips and dust everywhere. We have a few guys who handle the heavy lifting, and we usually sit near the front to catch anyone pulling in from the road. The Naka is a busy spot, so there are always people asking for directions or stopping to take a look at the stock. We don't have a flashy showroom with air conditioning. It’s just us, the stone, and the noise from the Miraj road. It gets tiring when we have a big delivery to sort out, but that is just how the business goes in this part of town. We mostly just focus on getting the slabs loaded safely without anything cracking. It’s hard work and our boots are always covered in grey dust by evening.
