Fresh Tranee Engineer

I'm based in Hatnur, which is a small village in the Tasgaon Taluka of Sangli district. The address is pretty simple since everyone knows everyone around here. Being a trainee engineer in a place like this is different from being in a big city. A lot of my work is out in the fields or helping with local machinery in the village. Sangli is known for its grapes, and that means there’s always some pump or tractor that needs looking at. I don’t have a big workshop with shiny tools. Most of the time, I’m carrying my bag of wrenches and traveling to where the work is. It’s dusty and the sun is hot, but it’s how I’m learning the trade. I spent a lot of time studying, but the real engineering happens when something breaks in the middle of a harvest. My family has been in this area for a long time. People call me when they have a problem because they know I’m around. I’m still learning a lot every day. Sometimes I get stuck on a problem and have to ask the older mechanics for help. It’s a slow process but it’s honest work. Hatnur is a quiet place and I like being able to help out my neighbors. I don't have a fancy office, just my bike and my tools and a lot of patience. It’s a long way from the classroom, but I’m doing my best.
