Rushi Engineering Work

Our workshop is over in Ward No. 5 in Ramanandnagar. It’s a quiet enough area, and we are right near the Ganesh Chitra Mandir. If you’re from Kirloskarwadi, you probably pass by us quite often. We’ve got the doors open most days so the air can circulate while we work on the machines. There is always a smell of cutting oil and metal shavings on the floor. It’s an engineering shop, so we take in all sorts of repair work or small jobs that people bring us. Some days it’s a farmer needing a part fixed, and other days it’s something more complicated for a local business. We have a few old lathes and drills that have seen better days but they still do the job just fine if you know how to handle them. The temple nearby means we hear the bells sometimes, which is a nice break from the sound of grinding metal. It’s just a few of us here, and we’ve known each other for years. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy, just the work we do. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit outside and wait for it to come back on. It gives us a chance to talk to the neighbors or grab a tea. It’s a simple way to make a living, but it’s steady. We just take one job at a time.
