Over here at Elcon Engineering Co. Ltd., we are situated on Anand Sojitra Road in Vallabh Vidyanagar. This area is known for its industrial feel, and we fit right in with our workshop and office setup. The sound of machinery is pretty much the background music for our day. We spend most of our time working on engineering projects and making sure the parts we produce are up to the right specifications. The office part of the building is where we handle the orders and the designs. It’s a practical space with big tables for blueprints and old metal filing cabinets that have been here since the start. We have a good team of people who have been doing this for a long time, so they don't need much direction anymore. The weather in this part of Gujarat can get quite hot, so we usually start the heavy work early in the morning before the sun gets too high. There’s always some grease on someone’s hands and a few spare parts lying around on the desks. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. If someone comes by, they usually just walk into the main area and find whoever they need to talk to. It’s a straightforward way of doing things, focusing on the metal and the machines rather than how the office looks to outsiders. We just keep at it every day and try to stay on schedule.
