Ashirvadh Enginneerig

Ashirvadh Enginneerig is based in a village called Sayama, which is in the Khambhat area of Anand district. It is a bit out of the way, but that is where we have our workshop. Being in a village means things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We do engineering work, which mostly involves fixing machines or making specific parts that people need. The floor is usually covered in oil stains and metal shavings from the lathes and drills. It is a small operation, and we don't have a lot of employees. Most of us have been working with tools for a long time. The building is simple, with a corrugated metal roof that makes a lot of noise when it rains. We don't have air conditioning, so we just keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through the fields. Sometimes a farmer will come by with a broken part from his tractor, and we spend the afternoon trying to get it back together. We don't have a big marketing department or a sales team. People in the Anand district just know that we are here in Sayama if they have a mechanical problem. It is dusty and greasy work, but it is what we know how to do. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever is on the bench that day. It is a quiet life but the work is steady.
