Zila Panchayat Inter College

Our college is right here in Manpur, Allahabad. It's an older building, and you can see that on the walls and the roof. We have many students coming from the surrounding villages every morning. Some walk, some come on bicycles, and a few take the local bus. The playground is mostly dirt and gets very dusty when the wind blows hard, but the kids don't seem to mind when they play football or cricket during the break. We have the usual classrooms with wooden benches and blackboards that have been used for a long time. The teachers live nearby, so everyone knows everyone else’s family. It’s a busy place during the day, with bells ringing for every period. We try to keep the garden at the front somewhat green, but the heat in Allahabad makes it very difficult in the summer. In the rainy season, the yard gets a bit muddy, and we all have to be careful not to slip on the way to the office. We follow the standard curriculum and focus on getting the older students ready for their board exams. It’s just a regular inter college for the local kids to get their education without having to travel too far into the city. We have a small library, though it’s mostly just textbooks and some old newspapers. People here are simple, and we just do our jobs every day to help the kids learn something useful. The gate stays open until evening for everyone.
