Shri Krishna Prasad Intermediate College

This college is situated in Kathauli, which is out near Mejaroad in the Allahabad area of Uttar Pradesh. It’s a place that feels very connected to the local countryside. Many of our students come from the villages nearby, often traveling quite a distance on their cycles to get here before the morning bell. The address is 212303 for the post, but most people just know the building by sight. We have a large iron gate and a big open space where the students hang out during their breaks. It’s an intermediate college, so we are dealing with teenagers who are getting ready for their big exams. The building is old and has that thick-walled feel that keeps it a bit cooler in the harsh Uttar Pradesh summers. We don't have air conditioning or anything like that, just big ceiling fans that spin all day. The teachers here are mostly from this region and they understand the life the students lead. We have a small library with some old books and a science lab that we use when we have the supplies. Life here moves at a different pace than in the big cities. We worry about things like the rains or the electricity going out during an important test. It’s a humble place, but it serves the people of Kathauli and Mejaroad well.
