About Tricot Fabrics – Industrial Plant & Machines in Karur
If you walk down Middle Street in Gandhipuram, you will eventually find us at number 42. Tricot Fabrics has been operating out of this spot for a good while, and it is packed floor to ceiling with rolls of cloth. The space is tight, and sometimes you have to turn sideways just to get through the aisles of stock. We spend our mornings unloading new batches and checking for snags or weird colors that aren't supposed to be there. It is a bit dusty because of the fabric fibers floating around, so we usually have the big doors open to let some air in. The street outside is always busy with people and bikes, so there is a constant background noise of horns and talking. We aren't doing anything fancy here; it is just about keeping track of what goes in and what goes out to the local tailors and shops. Sometimes a customer comes in looking for something specific, and we have to dig through the back piles to find it. The labels on the rolls are hand-written and sometimes the ink fades, which makes things interesting. It is a lot of heavy lifting, moving those big bolts of fabric around, but we are used to it by now. The tea stall on the corner is where we usually end up at the end of the day, just trying to get the thread bits off our clothes.
