Nachiappa Textiles

We are over at No. 18, Ramakrishnapuram East. Nachiappa Textiles has been a fixture in this neighborhood for a long time. The building is an old one, and you can see the history in the wooden beams and the way the floors are worn down in some spots. We deal with a lot of different fabrics and threads. The air inside always smells a bit like cotton and dye. It’s a busy place with people coming in to check on their orders or to drop off new materials. We have a few old looms in the back that we still use for certain jobs, and the clacking sound they make is something you just get used to. The light in the front room is good for checking colors, so we do most of our quality checks there. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just me and a few others who have been here since we were young. Ramakrishnapuram East is a nice place to work, even if it gets a bit crowded on market days. We know most of the people on our street and often share a meal or a chat during the breaks. We don’t spend money on fancy displays or big signs. People know where we are and what we do. We just focus on the cloth and making sure the weave is tight. It’s what we know how to do best.
