If you look for us at 11, Vaiyapurinagar, you’ll find us right there on the 3rd Cross. It’s a decent area off Kovai Road. Radaan Export is basically just a place where we manage all the shipping stuff. The building is simple, nothing too modern, just bricks and concrete that keep the heat out during the afternoons. We spend a lot of time checking boxes and making sure the labels are stuck on right. It gets a bit dusty with all the packing material lying around, but we try to sweep up once a week. The staff here is mostly local folks who walk or bike in from nearby. We don't do those big corporate meetings; we just talk over the crates about what needs to go out next. Kovai Road is always busy with trucks, which makes sense since we are sending things out all the time. Sometimes the electricity goes off, and we just sit outside on the steps for a bit until it comes back. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We’ve got a couple of ceiling fans that creak when they're on high, but they keep the air moving. Dealing with exports means we have to be careful with the details, so we spend a lot of time double-checking the lists under the fluorescent lights. It’s not glamorous, but it is our daily routine and we like the neighborhood well enough.
