Sree Guru Textiles

We are over at number 9 on Coimbatore Road. It’s an easy place to find if you know the area. We deal with all kinds of fabrics and cloth here. The building is filled with rolls of material stacked up to the ceiling. It can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to seeing that much textile in one place. We spend a lot of our time measuring, cutting, and packing. There is always lint in the air and the sound of the scissors or the machines running. We aren't a big showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a warehouse and a work area combined. Some of us have been working with textiles our whole lives. We know the feel of the different threads and what works for different jobs. People come in looking for specific things, and we do our best to find it in the stacks. It gets pretty hot during the summer months because the ventilation isn't the best in this old building. We just keep the fans going and keep working. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. Most people just know us from being on this road for so long. It’s a straightforward business. We buy the material, we store it, and we sell it to whoever needs it for their shop or project. It's a lot of manual work and we get tired by the end of the day, but it’s what we know how to do.
