Ram Textiles is right on the Nh-7, along the New Madurai Bye-Pass Road. It’s a location where you see a lot of trucks and long-distance travelers. The sun really beats down on this stretch of road, so the building gets quite hot during the day. We have large ceiling fans that never seem to stop spinning. The space is mostly filled with textiles, stacked high up to the rafters. We’ve been operating here for a good amount of time, mostly catering to local buyers and people passing through. It’s not a polished retail store; it’s more of a practical place where work gets done. You’ll see people loading up lorries in the front yard at all hours. We don't have much in the way of air conditioning, so we usually keep the doors wide open. The noise from the bye-pass road is constant, a mix of engines and horns. We’ve got a small area where we sit and handle the accounts, usually with a glass of cold water nearby. The team is small, mostly just locals who live nearby and walk to work. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just sell textiles and try to keep the business running. Some days the heat is too much and we slow down a bit, but mostly we’re busy from sunrise. It’s a straightforward life out here on the highway, and we’re used to the dust and the constant traffic.
