Lakshmi A Design

You can find us right at No. 312 in Bharathi Nagar North, just across the street from the Anbu Apartments. If you’re driving by, you might miss us because the street gets pretty crowded with parked cars and bikes. Lakshmi A Design is basically where we spend most of our daylight hours sketching things out and looking at different patterns. It’s a local setup. We don’t have any big signs or anything. My workspace is a bit of a mess most of the time, with measuring tapes and chalk everywhere. My cousin helps out sometimes when things get really hectic. We mostly deal with local folks who know where we are. It’s quiet in the mornings, which is nice for getting the sewing machines going. Later in the day, the noise from the road picks up. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors all know us. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. It’s part of the routine. We don’t do things in a flashy way. We just take the fabric, look at the designs, and try to make something that fits what people need. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on the details. Usually, we are here until late evening trying to finish up the last few bits of work for the week.
