We are located at 177, Allwin Nagar on Covai Road. This is Karur Home Textiles Consortium Pvt. Ltd. Being in Karur, we are surrounded by a lot of other textile businesses. Covai Road is always busy with lorries and people moving about. Our building is a simple two-story structure. We use the bottom floor for most of the heavy work and the top floor for the office stuff. It’s always a bit chaotic with fabric samples and thread lying around everywhere. We have a small group of people working here. Some have been with us since we started years ago. We don't have a big sign out front, just a small plate by the door. The power goes out once in a while, so we have a generator that kicks in. It’s pretty noisy and smells like diesel. We spend our days talking to suppliers and checking on the weaving process. It’s a lot of back and forth. Sometimes the heat on Covai Road is unbearable in the summer months. We just keep the fans going and drink plenty of water from the cooler. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we know. We try to keep things moving along even when things get delayed. There’s always a list of things to do that never seems to get shorter. We just take it one day at a time. The neighborhood is full of people doing similar things. It’s our routine.
