Nethaji English Medium School

Our school is located on Eastaff Street, right near the Wcc Collage Road in Veturnimadam. Nagercoil is a place where it rains quite often, so we are always checking the roof for leaks. The school building is right in the town area, so it gets a bit noisy with the traffic outside. Nethaji English Medium School has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. We have a lot of parents who come by to talk about their kids' progress. The office is small and usually filled with stacks of books and files. We have teachers who have been with us for ten or fifteen years. They know the streets here well. The students wear their uniforms and carry heavy bags, and we try to make sure they have enough water to drink. We have a few trees in the compound that provide some shade. The walk to the school from the main road is short. We don't have any big advertisements or flashy signs. Just a board with the school name on it. Most people find us through word of mouth. During the lunch hour, the smell of sambar and rice fills the hallways. It’s a very local feel. We just do our jobs and go home, making sure the children learn what they need to. It’s a steady life here in this part of Kanyakumari district. Sometimes we have small programs for the kids to show their talents, but mostly it is regular classes.
