The Veg Window

Our spot is called The Veg Window. We are located at 4-B, 12-13 in Dada Nagar, right here in Kanpur. It is pretty close to the SBI chauraha, so people usually find us without too much trouble. We aren't some big warehouse or a fancy grocery store. It’s just a small operation where we handle daily vegetables. Every morning, the trucks come in and we unload the crates. Some days the spinach looks better than others, and we just put it out as it is. We don't use those bright lights to make things look shinier. It’s just a window where you can see what we have. The neighborhood is a bit dusty and the traffic near the chauraha can be a real headache in the afternoons. We’ve been here in Dada Nagar for a few years now. The staff is just a couple of us who live nearby. We spend a lot of time sweeping the floor and moving bags around. It gets hot in the summer, and the fans don't do much, but we stay open. We don't have a fancy office or a marketing person. If you need some potatoes or onions, you just come by. We try to keep the scales balanced and the prices fair. It’s just a simple way to earn a living. Not much else to say about us, really. We’re just here doing the work every day.
