Rounak Corner

Rounak Corner is located at Shop No 66 in Fazal Ganj, Kanpur. Being in Fazal Ganj means there is always some kind of work going on nearby. It is a busy and industrial part of the city. Our shop is a small corner spot, which is why we call it Rounak Corner. We keep a little bit of everything squeezed into the space we have. From snacks to small household items, it is all packed in there. Sometimes I feel like I am playing a game of Tetris trying to fit new boxes onto the shelves. The walls are covered in small hooks for hanging packets of all kinds. It is not a fancy place with bright lights, just a regular shop with a ceiling fan that squeaks a little bit when it is on high. I usually spend my morning checking what got sold the day before and writing it down in a notebook. Kanpur can be very hot, so the afternoons are usually quiet while everyone stays indoors to avoid the sun. Then it picks up again in the evening when people are going home from work and need to grab something. I have lived in this area for a long time, so I know most of the people who walk through the door. We do not have a website or anything like that, just the shop here in Fazal Ganj. It is a simple way to earn a living.
