Operating out of Gandhiganj, Ambey Edible Food Products Pvt. Ltd. is right in the thick of the local trade. Don't let the name fool you; we are just a local bunch of people working in a warehouse. Gandhiganj is a busy area with lots of coming and going, so we are always dodging handcarts and delivery vans. We handle various food products, and our days are mostly spent checking stock and loading crates for transport. The office is just a small corner with a few old filing cabinets and a computer that’s seen better days. It gets pretty loud outside with the shouting of the loaders and the honking of the rickshaws. We don't really do much in the way of promotion. The business comes from being here every day and knowing the local shopkeepers. We have some heavy fans going to keep the air moving, but it’s still a stuffy place in the summer months. We drink our tea in stained glass tumblers and talk about the prices in the market. It’s a straightforward operation. We make sure the orders are right and the products are stored properly so they stay fresh. There’s no secret to it, just keeping a close eye on the inventory and making sure the gates are locked tight at night when we finally head home.
