Kheda Kursi Kisan Utpadan Producer Company Limited

Our company is located in Aurangpur Gahdeva, out in the Kanpur Dehat district. We use Mr. Kamal Narayan’s place as our home base. It’s a typical village setting, and we are just a bunch of local farmers. We aren't trying to be some big industrial name. We named it Kheda Kursi because that’s the land we belong to. Most of us have been working these fields since we were kids. We grow whatever the season allows, and it’s always a struggle against the weather. We started this producer company because it’s getting harder and harder for a single farmer to make a profit. We figure if we buy our supplies together and sell our harvest as a group, we might stand a better chance. We don’t have a formal office with secretaries. It’s just us sitting on chairs in the courtyard, talking about the price of diesel or the quality of the latest seeds. There’s a lot of mud in the rainy season and plenty of dust in the summer, but that’s just life in Kanpur Dehat. We don't have any promotional speeches. We just want to work the land and get a fair price for it. It’s about survival and keeping the village tradition alive. We’re just everyday people doing what our families have done for generations, just trying to be a bit smarter about how we handle the business side of things.
