Kuyiloor L P School

We are located right on the road that leads to Pazhassi Dam in Kannur. It is a nice spot, though it gets a lot of traffic during the tourist season. Being a lower primary school, we mostly see the younger kids from the nearby villages. The building has been here for quite some time, and you can see that in the thick walls and the old wooden benches we still use. We have a small playground where the children spend their breaks, and it is usually filled with shouting and running. Our teachers are local people who have lived in Kannur their whole lives. We do not have the latest computers or anything too modern, but we have plenty of books and blackboards that get the job done. The school day starts early and ends just as the afternoon heat gets really strong. We focus on the basics like reading, writing, and a bit of math. It is a very grounded place. We see the same parents every day at the gate, and we know most of the families by name. Life here follows the seasons. When it rains heavily, we sometimes have to send everyone home early if the road gets bad. It is just a normal, everyday school where we try our best to teach the kids what they need to know. There is nothing flashy about Kuyiloor L P School, just us doing our work on Pazhassi Dam Road and making sure the children get their lessons.
