Gurudeva Smarakam U P School

If you travel down towards Chendayad, you will find us tucked away in Puthoor. This part of Kannur stays very green, especially when the rains start coming down heavy. Gurudeva Smarakam U P School is where we spend our whole day. The building has been here for years, and you can see it in the walls and the old wooden doors. We do not have those shiny modern things you see in the city schools. Instead, we have big trees in the yard and plenty of space for the kids to run around during their breaks. The morning starts with the bell ringing out across the village. It is a familiar sound for everyone living nearby. Our staff mostly comes from the surrounding areas, so we are all familiar faces to each other. We spend a lot of time fixing up bits of the roof or painting a wall when it gets too peeled. The classrooms are basic, with old benches that have seen many students over the years. We keep the registers updated by hand and make sure the lunch gets served on time. It is a busy life here in Chendayad, but it is a good one. We are just a local school doing our bit without much fuss. The road outside can get a bit muddy, but we are used to it and just keep moving along.
