Kannancode West L P School

This is a small lower primary school located on the road between Kolavelloor and Puthur Kaivelikkal in Kannur. It’s the kind of place where you know all the kids and their parents too. The school building is quite old and has that classic Kerala style with the sloped roof. When the monsoon hits, we are always checking for leaks and making sure the kids stay dry. The playground is just a patch of ground where they play football or run around during the interval. We don't have any fancy computers or a big library, just the basic books and the blackboards. The teachers here have been around for a long time, and they really care about the local community. You can hear the children singing rhymes or repeating their tables if you pass by in the morning. It’s a bit of a walk for some of the students who live further down the lanes, but they all make it here somehow. We have a small office where we keep all the records in old registers. Sometimes the compound wall needs a bit of fixing because the rain washes away the soil, but we do what we can. It’s a simple, honest school where the main goal is just to give the little ones a decent start. No one here is trying to be fancy; we just go about our work day by day and hope for the best.
